Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Svatá Hora

Svatá Hora, or Holy Mountain, rises above the mining town of Příbram in Central Bohemia and is the most revered Marian pilgrimage site in the Czech lands. The early-Baroque complex, rebuilt from 1660 by architect Carlo Lurago around an older Gothic shrine, encloses the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and its arcaded cloisters. Pope Pius X raised the church to the rank of minor basilica in 1905. Cared for by the Redemptorist order, the sanctuary streams its regular weekday, Saturday and Sunday Masses online through the parish website and its Twitch channel.
